Many of our school families find that they have a need for a consistent, safe, and supervised place for their children outside of regular school hours. For this reason, St. Germaine School provides an Extended Day Program on most school days, including half-day faculty meeting days. Parents are clearly notified of days when the Extended Day Program will not be available.
Our program provides supervision, recreation activities and homework time for registered K-8 students of St. Germaine School. Teachers or other members of the school staff are employed as the usual supervisors of the Extended Day Program.
Occasionally, especially on Faculty Meeting Days, other supervisors may be used.
The Extended Day Program operates each day Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and from 2:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. For “Half-Day Faculty Meetings” the afternoon program operates from 11:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.
Only full-time students of St. Germaine School are eligible to participate. Students registered in the FULL DAY pre-school programs are also eligible for the program after consultation with the principal and classroom teacher. Half-day pre-school and half-day kindergarten students are only eligible for the morning program.
Fees are charged hourly, with a sliding scale for more than one child. “Partial Hours” are pro-rated per quarter hour, and only for the days used. Information about current rates and initial registration fees are available by contacting the school office.
