We are proud to announce our school plans for celebrating

Catholic Schools Week

January 29, 2023- February 4, 2023

Each year Catholic Schools throughout the United States celebrate their wonderful work and the wonderful people who make it possible.

Now Open for Registrations for 2023-2024 school year!

St. Germaine Catholic School, a U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon School, is now open for Registrations for the 2023-2024 school year. Everyone is invited to tour the school after the 9:30am mass on January 29th.  No reservations are required for the Open House.

Open House January 29th, 2023 10:30am – 12noon

We are planning a fun week with many interactive activities for the kids to celebrate Catholic Schools Week!  Registrations for the 2023-2024 school year will be taken by calling the school office or visiting registration page.   We offer in person learning for all grades supplemented by numerous eLearning resources.   Class sizes are kept at a minimum so early enrollment, especially for our Pre-K Early Advantage Program, is strongly encouraged.

Catholic Schools Week begins January 29th with a Liturgy (9:30am in the Church) to mark the start of Catholic Schools Week. The theme for CSW is “Catholic Schools: Faith. Excellence. Service.”  As communities of faith, Catholic schools instill in students their destiny to become saints.  Academic excellence is the hallmark of Catholic education intentionally directed to the growth of the whole person – mind, body and spirit.  Finally, service is fundamental to Catholic education and the core of Catholic discipleship.  Service is intended to help form people who are not only witnesses to Catholic social teaching, but also active participants through social learning.  These shared qualities are what make Catholic schools work.  They are what make Catholic schools succeed.

Catholic Schools Week Calendar of Events!

Sunday,         January 29, 2023            Celebrating with Our Parish

We will gather to celebrate the 9:30 a.m. Mass.  After Mass, we will hold an Open House for families.  Drop by to see your child’s classroom, the new Innovation Lab and the large screen TV that posts our school and parish events.  Please bring any new neighbors or friends that might be looking for school placements next year!  We’d love to meet new families—especially of pre-school age students.

Monday,       January 30, 2023            Celebrating Service

This year we will work with a group called “Dig Deep.”  The organization helps to provide access to clean drinking water, wells, and cisterns to communities in the US.  Classes will set a goal to provide funds for needed water related items.  More details and a collection envelope will be sent home next week.  The organization website is https://www.digdeep.org

Tuesday,      January 31, 2023          Celebrating Our Students—Dress-Down Day, Absolutely No Homework!

Students may dress in blue for the day to reinforce our connection to water. Students will enjoy a pizza lunch. We’ll work on STEAM activities that relate to water usage, shortages and conservation. The teachers have promised NO HOMEWORK!

Wednesday, February 1, 2023          Celebrating Our Teachers and Staff

To honor them for all their hard work, teachers will be treated to a “long lunch” (11:30-12:30). Parent volunteers will cover the classrooms.

Thursday,     February 2, 2023        Celebrating Our Faith

Students in Grades 4-8 will be creating “saint puppets” using paper bags, popsicle sticks and lots of craft glue! They will do research on the life of a saint and create a script for a short play about the saint. They will travel from class to class to share their plays, especially with the younger students.

Friday,          February 3, 2023  Celebrating FUN!

We will revive our annual Germaine Music Review to close out our celebration. Each class will perform a dance for us on Friday afternoon. We’d love to have you join us in the gym at 1:00 to share i in the FUN. Many of the classes will have costumes for their performances. Students may wear them to school so we don’t have to spend a lot of time changing. We will consider it a dress down day for all.    The teachers are even planning a skit!
